Tom Veck
British alternative indie-rocker Tom Vek burst into
the pages of NME in 2005 with the release of his
innovative debut, ‘We Have Sound’. His experimental
approach to garage rock, which has led to comparisons
with fellow multi-instrumentalist Beck, is
characterized by buzzing electronics, fuzzy guitar
hooks, shambolic drums, funky rhythms and synthy,
deeply drawled vocals. Though his sound is largely
raw, noisy and atmospheric, catchy singles such as
‘CC (You Set the Fire in Me)’ display a clear pop
sensibility.
